League membership is open to all women who wish to share in our ministry to women and families, resonate with our enrichment programs and are interested in forming friendships with women from all over the Twin Cities.
It is NOT necessary to volunteer in any LCW community outreach to be a League member. Some women join because the League fills a personal need for them. Some women join to get acquainted with other women in the community. Some women join and faithfully pay dues simply to support to work of the League. Many women volunteer intermittently when their life circumstances allow it.
Many women find fulfillment in volunteering in some aspect of League activity from hands-on projects to program planning to dynamic leadership roles. The League is dependent upon and extremely grateful for all the gifts and talents offered to us by our diverse and dedicated members.
Programs and experiences that reflect a woman’s perspective on the spiritual life, including speakers, retreat days in Advent and Lent, study groups. The League welcomes suggestions on topics and will facilitate small gatherings such as spiritual book clubs or scripture study.
Currently the thrust of our educational programs is on keeping members up to date on community needs, changing demographics and cultural diversity. There will be occasional outings to explore the richness of our metropolitan community.
A fall and spring event brings all LCW members together, and small gatherings such as evening and daytime book clubs and art tours at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts allow members to get to know each other better while the annual newcomers’ party helps new LCW members feel at home. Hospitality and supportive friendships are a priority in every LCW endeavor.
