Intellectual Enrichment

For the last three years, the League’s educational enrichment group has sought to give members and guests a deeper understanding of important issues facing our community and our world.  Notable speakers have made us more aware of such subjects as closing the education gap, the scourge of human trafficking and the complicated questions around immigration. Two to four sessions are held yearly.  A new committee will be forming this summer. Please contact the League office (612-813-5321) or lcwmpls@gmail,com  to express your interest. You will receive a call back during office hours.

The League also has two monthly book clubs---one in the daytime and one in the evening. See the current list of their reading selection in Groups meet in private homes. Although both book clubs currently have capacity enrollment, there is ample opportunity to form a new reading group for those who would like to be in a book club. Please contact the League Office (512-813-5321) or lcwmpls@gmail.com and leave your name. We will get back to you during office hours.

Docent-led tours of the Minneapolis Institute of Art are available to League members and their guests about six times a year. Centered around a specific theme, these tours are a BIG hit! Lunch follows for those who can stay. This is a good way for new or would-be LCW members get to know current members and learn a lot about art.
